The results of holographic diffraction gratings (HDG) recording and production on the base of lightsensitive semiconductor-metal systems are presented in this paper. Peculiarities of obtaining the HDG relief pattern in chalcogenide vitreous semiconductor (ChVS) - silver systems, based on binary compounds As2S3, As2Se3, GeSe2 are examined. Selection of system parameters, recording and development conditions are discussed. The possibility of relief increasing during HDG recording in the ChVS-metal systems with the help of uniform additional irradiation is shown. It was also shown that ChVS-silver systems may be used for the production of HDG with asymmetrical groove profile. Spectral properties, groove profiles of HDG on the base of ChVS-silver systems were investigated for the gratings with spatial frequencies from 1200 to 3600 mm-1. For such gratings diffraction efficiency values reach 60% for unpolarized light and 80-85% for S-polarization.
