Morphology of zircons in massive and incipient charnockites of southern Kerala: Their bearing on the origin

摘要
Morphological characteristics of zircons in massive and incipient charnockites show contrasting features between the two types, Significantly greater length/breadth ratio in massive charnockite suggests crystallization in igneous environment, whereas zircons of incipient, charnockites point to extended eventual rounding and deposition in environment, Further, morphological petrological and geochemical incipient charnockites are the highgrade (granulite facies) reaction of metasediments (argillaceous and arenaceous) whereas massive charnockites developed from igneous protoliths.
