摘要：
The authors present the results of an experimental research program on the vortex induced oscillations of a flexible circular cylinder with low damping coefficient and suspended at the nodes of its first free-free vibration mode. The results indicate a non-linear behaviour of the response amplitude for different air velocities during lock-in. The experimental results support partly Feng's results and are discussed in detail taking into account the shed vortices and the observations by Williamson and Roshko.
