SOCIAL SCIENCE, NARRATIVES AND FEMINIST PRACTICE

Shulamit Reinharz's early work holds an important place in gender and women's studies scholarship and is inseparable from her work as a teacher, mentor and scholar in the field of Jewish Studies. This essay explores how some of the theoretical and methodological concerns of the initial sociological and feminist critiques of the social sciences (to which Shula was an early and discerning contributor) have slowly made their way into Jewish Studies scholarship.
