摘要
Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the depressive symptoms of type 2 diabetic patients who were treated with oral anti-diabetic drugs and insulin. Methods: The study consisted of 107 type 2 diabetic patients who met the inclusion criteria. The data of the study were collected using an Information Form which was prepared by the researcher based on the review of relevant literature and the Beck depression inventory. The analysis of data is carried out using the mean, the standard deviation, the Mann-Whitney U test, the Kruskal-Wallis test, the regression analysis. The results are computed with a 95% confidence interval and a significance at p<0.05 level. Results: The mean age of the diabetic patients was 63.1 +/- 11 and more than half between 55-69 years. The average duration of diabetes was 16 6.7. 47.3% of patients who treated with oral anti-diabetic drugs and 61.1% of patients who treated with insulin were diabetic 15 and more years. Mean value of HbA1c was detected as 8.69 +/- 1.56%. (oral drug group, 7.6 1 +/-.13%; insulin group 9.4 +/- 1.44%). 79.3% of patients who were treated with oral anti-diabetic drugs had no complications due to diabetes, but all the insulin group had one or more complications. The average BDI score of all patients was 22 +/- 13.4 (oral drug group, 12.8 +/- 9.82; insulin group, 31 +/- 10.8). Conclusion: As a result, it was found that patients have high level depression symptom and some factor increases this symptoms. Thus, priority should be given to teach how to protect and gain ability to overcome against to depression in patients with DM.
