INDEPENDENT EFFECTS OF METABOTROPIC MEDIATORS ON ACETYLCHOLINE-INDUCED CURRENT IN MOLLUSCAN NEURONS ARE DUE TO COMPARTMENTALIZATION OF CHEMORECEPTORS

摘要
Compartmentalization of receptors was found to determine the specificity of modulating action of metabotropic mediators on acetylcholine responses in identified Helix pomatia neurons under voltage clamp conditions. The modulatory effects of serotonin, oxytoxin and arginine-vasopressin were shown to be mediated by cyclic AMP and their bi-mode action to be due to the existence of different types and subtypes of acetylcholine receptors in molluscan neurons.
