TRANSFER IMPEDANCE AND TRANSIENT EMI COUPLING OF SPHERICAL SHIELDS

This paper presents an analytical formulation of the transfer impedance of a hollow sphere. For thin shields, an approximation is given instead of the exact solution. The results could be used for verification of the transfer impedance measurement and development of a function describing screening effectiveness. Moreover, the transient voltage in the shielding hollow sphere is calculated when a current pulse is injected into the poles of the sphere.
