摘要
Increasing competition in the high-grade steel field requires appropriate technical solutions in the design and construction of rod mills. A refining of thermal treatment during the rolling process is also necessary. Description of a modern high-grade steel rod mill. Unitized construction of the CL-stands, use of standarized rolls in the finishing block, inclusion of modern roll changing devices as well as application of the Optiflex and Retarded Stelmor process represent special features of the mill. Design and mode of operation of the rod mill components. Suitable designs ensure lower operating costs, especially through reduced stockkeeping of spare parts, improved energy efficiency and higher yield.
