Contractual good faith: a historical-legal outline

Vital and crucial concepts should be often studied, especially in terms of their historical-legal evolution. Such is the case of the notion of good faith with regard to contracts. Therefore, it has been considered a matter of interest to revisit, on the one hand, the origins of this concept, its history as well as the reason for its revival; while on the other, to seek to reveal its present and its future. This task allows us to show the conceptual transformation it has undergone, its legal relevance, the law branches it has finally conquered and, indeed, its future within national, European and international Contract Law.
