As its known, migration from rural to urban areas, on the one hand cause emptied of rural areas, on the other hand create many spatial and socioeconomic problems in the urban centers. In this regard, it has a great importance to create new possibilities in employment for rural population in rural areas Kahta district of Adiyaman Province is one of the regions that both seasonal and permanent migration experiencing in intense. That area hasnt great potantials about make wide employment for rural economic activities, but the textile manufacturing sector that intenced last 10 years in Kahta become a major source of employment not only for city center but also for the population living in villages. The textile mills, the first of which was founded 1998 and in increasing process today, have created job opportunities for a large group of young people. The lack of worforce needed in the city center with the number of growing mills, bring about a case to provide workers from surrounding villages This study focused on the textile workers from villages in Kahta district. Within this study it was realised interviews in 11 institutional textile mills. According to the data obtained, 763 persons are employed in these mills of which 40% came from 23 different settlements distance from city center ranging from 5 to 46 km. In this study; historical development of textile sector in Kahta, characteristics of textile enterprices, contributions to overall and rural employment, the problems and the predictions of the future of textile sector heve been introduced
