A series of micromechanical FEM simulations of the micromechanics of the austenite-->pearlite transformation in steel has been carried out. From the results of these simulations, the transformation plastic strain associated with this transformation is analysed as a function Of stress level, stress multiaxiality and stress history. Comparisons are made with the analytical models of Greenwood-Johnson, Leblond and Fisher.
