A MODEL FOR GAS-SOLID STRATIFIED FLOW IN HORIZONTAL DENSE-PHASE PNEUMATIC CONVEYING

摘要
On the basis of understanding the interaction mechanism between suspension and sliding bed, a physical model has been developed for gas-solid stratified flow with high solids/gas mass flowrate ratio (so-called solids loading) in horizontal pneumatic conveying. It was found that the predicted pressure drop from the developed model coincides within +/-30% with the experimental data for conveying medium size sand and fine lime in an 8 m long pipe with a diameter of 20 mm under a wide range of solids loading from 30 to 200. Also, predictions for phase diagram, flow configuration and velocity of sliding bed seem to be more reasonable from the present model than previous models.
