FACTORS OF MORTALITY IN MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES: A STUDY IN THE CENTRAL REGION OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL

摘要：

The micro and small enterprises play an important role on local and regional economies. Most of these enterprises cannot thrive or remain on the market for more than a half decade; in other words, it represents early mortality. Before this, this paper is characterized as a descriptive survey that considers one of the main steps towards clarification about survival of enterprises. Then, the goal was to identify the factors that cause mortality of micro and small enterprises in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Thereunto, the research added a sample of 60 companies. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire. The result showed eleven major factors causing mortality of companies. It was concluded that there is a relation among the factors found in this research with the results obtained by other authors in previous studies.
