摘要：
Chronic heart failure is not only one of the fastest growing morbidities in western countries but also one of the commonest reasons for hospitalization. Up to 50-60% of heart failure patients suffer from renal failure, which is often the reason for hospitalization. In patients with cardio-renal syndrome renal failure is one of the strongest predictors for mortality. Due to the close pathophysiological and prognostic interactions between these two organs, patients with cardio-renal syndrome should receive interdisciplinary, patient and symptom-oriented treatment in collaboration with cardiologists and nephrologists.
