LIGNIFICATION IN RED RASPBERRY CANES UPON WOUNDING AND FUNGAL INFECTION

摘要
Mechanical injury of red raspberry canes had no influence on lignin formation in wounded tissue. Infection with Didymella applanata pathogen induced lignin deposition, which was related to the level of cultivar resistance to this pathogen as well as to post-infectious increase of beta-D-glucosidase activity. Little or no lignification occurred by the infection of raspberry canes with Leptosphaeria coniothyrium, but marked increase in beta-D-glucosidase activity was stated. The level of activity increase was similar in both investigated cultivars differing in the susceptibility to L. coniothyrium.
