PERINEAL ECTOPIC TESTIS

Introduction: Perineal ectopic testis (PET) is a rare congenital anomaly with incidence of <1% of all cases of undescended testes. About two hundred patients have been reported with PET. PET may be associated with a congenital hernia. On surgical exploration, the gubernaculum testis is probably found to lie fixed to the perineum. The ectopic testis is relatively rare but is easily recognized and treated by orchiopexy. The evaluation of differential diagnosis of empty scrotum is recommended. Perineal evaluation should be done in all case of empty scrotum. We report a 21 years old male with empty scrotum. He was diagnosed to have PET and was treated with orchiopexy.
