摘要
It has been observed that Cum-Nin multilayers may grow in specific columnar modes. These observations are summarized and discussed within a coherency-strain based continuum elasticity theory. It is suggested that, depending on the anisotropy of an effective biaxial elastic modulus, particular growth habits may be established in coherent compositionally modulated multilayers, as those observed in electron microscopy investigations.
