摘要
This paper presents a solution of the Economical Load Dispatch (ELD) Problem using a Memetic algorithm (MA). Memetic algorithms (MAs) are a powerful combination of local process with evolutionary algorithms (EAs). The name is originated from the term "meme" which Dawkins used to identify a cultural gene that can exhibit local refinement. For some classical optimization problems, MAs are currently the best solution methods. This paper suggests an MA to deal with equality and inequality constraints found in the ELD Problem. The proposed MA is applied to a simple ELD Problem composed of 6 generators.
