UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY INTERACTION: THE CASE OF THE INNOVATION OFFICE OF UFSC

This article addresses the University-Industry Interaction from a single case study carried out at the Innovation Department of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). It is a research of exploratory nature, qualitative and quantitative approach and, as for the time interval analyzed, longitudinal. Secondary data were obtained through management reports from the Innovation Department of UFSC, referring to the period from 2005 to 2015. The analysis of the documents was carried out from June to September of 2016 and the data were systematized in graphic resources. The importance of the department's role in relations between the University and the private sector remained evident. The information obtained corroborates the literature, such as the predominance of engineering and technology centers in the interactions with companies. This work contributes to the studies on University-Industry Interaction, because it demonstrates the relevance of the performance of a university sector in the formalization and conduction of projects between higher education institutions and companies.
