摘要
The article discusses the transition scenario in which journalism and investigative practice are immersed, reflecting on the challenges and opportunities faced in the current context, with the aim of exposing notes about the emergence of the nonprofit journalism sector, focusing on initiatives dedicated to producing investigative reporting. The decline in revenue from traditional media and production routines of journalism on the Internet have transformed the investment in investigative journalism practiced within the newsrooms of major media outlets. However, it also provided an opportunity to create new spaces for production, distribution and access to journalistic investigations. Among the observable diversity initiatives, we highlight and seek to understand the conformation of journalistic nonprofits sector, originated in the United States and has been proliferated throughout Latin America. We conclude that although the sector is present in expansion and represents a new space for the production of investigative reporting, the challenges are many, among which we highlight the achievement of sustainability and independence.
