Books, reading, teaching and women in the eighteenth century New Spain

During the 18th Century in Mexico a transformation is produced in the educational guidelines that the entry of the Illustration propitiates, especially from the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1776. Nevertheless this transformation, more rapid in case of the young men, originates from very slow and almost imperceptible form in case of the women. To it he contributes the mistake of pedagogic illustrated agreements and the scanty diffusion of works of reading that with difficulty come to the women submitted to a very precarious culture in the bosom of the home.
