摘要
In the field of peritoneal dialysis, the biocompatibility of dialysis solutions is an important factor for prolonged treatment. The experience of our group has shown that tests with cultured mesothelium can provide data on growth, development and morphology of mesothelium exposed to solutions of different formula. Data on mesothelial secretions, such as phospholipids, cytokines, eicosanoids and enzymes, can also be obtained. Studies of this kind, together with those in animals in vivo (histology and observation of the microcirculation) can provide data essential for a correct formulation of new solutions.
