摘要
The Killerod Fm (''Bronnii beds'' or ''Coscinorinus limestone'') is a thin, but distinctive formation in the Middle Ordovician, upper Uhakuan Stage, in SW Scania (Skane), the southernmost province of Sweden. It is c. 70 cm thick and consists of alternating grey microcrystalline limestone and blue-grey shaly mudstone. The Killerod Fm is richly fossiliferous and has yielded a fairly extensive fauna consisting mainly of trilobites, but also of brachiopods, conodonts, and ostracodes. The trilobite fauna is dominated by the trinucleid trilobites Botrioides bronnii and B. efflorescens. Other trilobites are Arthrorhachis sp., Bronteopsis concetrica, Lonchodomas rostratus, Nileus platys, Platycalymene dilatata, Platycalymene? sp., Pseunomegalaspis patagiata, Remopleurides sp., and Telephina aff. granulata. This fauna bears a close resemblance to those of the lower Anderso Shale in Jamtland, central Sweden, and the upper Fines Fm in the Oslo Region, Norway. It is concluded that the trilobite fauna of the Killerod Fm is indicative of the Hustedograptus te retillsculus Zone, being in accordance with conodont-based correlations.
