摘要
We will approach questions about the relationship between the components of human individuality according to Schopenhauer, and their importance for morality. The relation between the intellect and the will is a necessary condition, but not sufficient for the occurrence of compassion. The degree of morality of each individual is foremost determined by his innate intelligible character. The cognoscent subject belongs to the world as representation, but although Schopenhauer always refers to it as a phenomenon, it is necessary to distinguish the concepts, we must differentiate the phenomenon itself and the subject as a priori condition of any and all phenomena, including compassion.
