摘要:
The author briefly discusses classical and modern schools of qigong and its history within the context of Chinese traditional medicine. Introductory breathing techniques are described-the first essential step in learning qigong. The second step entails learning how to engage several circuits of Qi energy through breathing and concentration exercises; this report focuses on the Small Circle and the Big Circle, plus variations. The third step entails learning how to perform postural exercises; several are detailed. He concludes with a brief discussion on the value of qigong practice in alleviating stress and promoting physical, mental and spiritual health.
