The high resolution Doppler-limited infrared spectrum of the Meinel bands of N2+, A2Πu-X2Σg+, has been recorded in emission by Fourier transform spectroscopy. The spectrum was obtained from a hollow-cathode discharge source over the range 3500-11500 cm-1. Several bands were observed in this region for the first time at high resolution; the 0-1 and 1-2 have not previously been detected in the laboratory. Molecular constants have been determined for each band and represent an improvement over previous work. By combining previous data for higher vibrational levels with the present data, equilibrium constants of several parameters have been determined. © 1992.
