摘要
In most cases, the anaerobic process can be considered as a pretreatment to aerobic treatment. The use of anaerobic pretreatment affects the quality of the wastewater to be treated in the following aerobic stage, and thus affects the performance of the aerobic treatment. This paper reports on a study aimed at achieving an economical biological treatment process for concentrated pulp and paper mill effluent. The basic idea was to study the feasibility of pretreating anaerobically the concentrated fractions before leading them, together with dilute effluent fractions, to the final purification stage. Processes compared in this study are anaerobic-aerobic and single stage aerobic treatment process.
