Dry jointing is a new technique for use in building modern precast concrete segmental bridge decks which has been recently developed in the USA and the Far East. Its use on the Bangkok Second Stage Expressway, one of the world's largest bridge construction projects, demonstrates the main advantage of this technique. This Paper describes the theory and application of dry joints.
