摘要
The diesel fuel is widely used in Brazil and its composition can have high sulfur contents (up to 5000 ppm, 0.5 wt%) depending on its purpose, such as the fuel used in vessels called marine Diesel. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the performance (power, torque and fuel consumption) of diesel engines fueled with mixtures of marine diesel and biodiesel. The fuels were evaluated mixtures of 5% (B5); 10% (B10); 20% (B20); 40% (B40), 60% (B60) of biodiesel added to marine diesel and pure biodiesel (B100). The results obtained for power showed that biodiesel blends performed better around 2500 rpm. The results of torque to the fuel blends were in the range 366-374 Nm in rotation around 1500 rpm and 370 Nm for the same speed marine diesel. The marine diesel showed the best results in fuel consumption (20.8 kg / ha 1500 rpm). The use of 5% biodiesel added to marine diesel was 7.7% economically more advantageous than pure marine diesel.
