摘要
Cities that are studied by urban geographers are the settlements larger and more populated than rural settlements. Cities are described as agricultural, mining, industrial, trading and cultural cities looking at the weights of urban functions. Geography studies the cities with their physical and human geography properties and their interaction and reveals the lifestyles and functions of the cities. In this study, geographical properties of Cankiri, a city located at the north of Central Anatolia Region, were tried to evaluate with aspect of urban development potential. Although the city has a considerable potential of culture, tourism, mining and industry (related to mining) there aren't important developments and today it's a small Anatolian city. However, it's possible to make it a touristic, mining and industrial big city by using especially these potentials.
