The crisis of the modernity has compelled the current societies to rethink their ways of dealing with the environment, forcing them to adopt a more cautious approach in relation to the technological advances and their environmental impacts, as a way to guarantee the possibility of a worthy existence of the generations to come. In this scenario, this article intends to discourse briefly on the Precautionary Principle and to approach the difficulties that surround the judicial proceeding in view of the scientific uncertainties to consider, in the end, a bigger popular participation in the Collective Environmental Lawsuits.
