摘要
This paper deals with Muslims. attitude toward non-Islamic temples in conquered lands. Muslims. attitude toward non-Islamic temples alters according to the form of conquering the city with agreement or peace, time, and the personal attitudes of khalifs or governors. In Islamic history, Muslims appear to use non-Islamic temples with non-Muslims for prayer in the first days of conquering, or to build their mosques in available places, or to transform non-Islamic temples to mosques in different cities. Occasionally the clash or tension between Muslims and non-Muslims (or their outside supporters) caused some negative results such as destruction, destroying, and firing the temples. Reversely, the friendly relations between them led Muslims to have respect for non-Islamic temples.
