OBSERVATIONS OF CO (J = 1-0) AND (J = 3-2) EMISSION-LINES TOWARD THE VERY HIGH-REDSHIFTED GALAXY IRAS F10214+4724

摘要
We have observed the CO (J = 1-0) and CO (J = 3-2) emission lines toward the high-redshifted galaxy IRAS F10214+4724 using the Nobeyama 45-m telescope. Both lines were detected with two spectral peaks separated by 240 km s-1. We confirmed the existence of huge molecular material in IRAS F10214+4724. The measured integrated line flux for the entire spectrum is integral Sdv = 2.9 +/- 0.5 Jy km s-1 for CO (J = 1-0) and integral Sdv = 4.4 +/- 0.7 Jy km s-1 for CO (J = 3-2). The intensity ratio between the two transitions indicates optically thick emission. The molecular masses were estimated to be (0.3-1.4) x 10(11)h-2 M. in the 16'' beam and (2-8) x 10(11)h-2 M. in the 48'' beam. A comparison between our results and the previous larger beam result suggests that the molecular gas of IRAS F10214+4724 has an extended structure and may be separated into two components.
