Major Perfomances in the Conservation and Restoration of stained-glass windows

This article reviews the methods, products and criteria most commonly used nowadays in the field of stained glass conservation. The intervention process of a traditional window will be chronologically examined, from the initial stages of dismantling, packing, transport, storage and documentation until its restoration, conservation and final protection with an appropriate ventilated system. The type of interventions described here focus primarily on historical stained glass located in an architectural setting and executed with the traditional technique of leaded glass, usually with application of fired paints.
