摘要
A theoretical model for projectile collision on a semi-infinite plane is proposed. The problem of penetration is addressed as a perfectly inelastic collision and the behavior of the white material as an elastic fluid in order to calculate the length of penetration. The model was experimentally proven (corroborated) at the Ballistic Laboratory of Venezuela's Military Industry Corporation (Cavim, by its acronym in Spanish). The results are in good agreement with the model, according to which the length of penetration depends primarily on the length and density of the projectile. Moreover, applications in Military Technology, the determination of maximum material pressure, and the Deep Mission spacecraft collision on the Temple 1 comet are discussed.
