摘要
The main characteristics of the pervaporation are: evaporation through a membrane, phase change occurs; separation of liquid narrow-boiling or aceotropic mixtures; free from the problems of environmental pollution caused by harmful entrainers in distillation such as benzene etc. Pervaporation offers considerable advantages in comparison with other separation techniques like destillation. Results of pervaporation experiments for the dehydration of ethanol-water-mixtures will be discussed. The membranes used for the experiments are polyelectrolyte membranes called symplex membranes. These membranes show excellent separation efficiency in comparison with literature. Different types of symplex membranes were used for the investigations to find the optimal membrane.
