The excess molar volumes VmE were measured as a function of mole fraction x at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure for [x{isomer of C6H4(CH3)2} + (1 - x)CkHk + 1OH] where k = 1,2, or 3. A vibrating-tube densimeter (Paar DMA 601) was used to determine the excess molar volumes. The results are discussed in terms of the relative position of the methyl groups on the benzene ring, the carbon chain length of the alkanol, and the excess partial molar volumes at infinite dilution. © 1990.
