摘要
In this paper a formal description of the alarm handling problem is given. In particular, new AI-based alarm reduction techniques will be discussed. For the sake of clarity the discussion will be given in terms of set theory. This approach can be seen as an attempt to give more stringent definitions of the alarm handling problem and also to make the concepts adopted more understandable for non-specialists.
