摘要
The single-occupant Nexus vehicle design represents a major step forward in the reduction of fuel requirements for safe, personal commuting. Passenger car safety standards applicable to enclosed three-wheeled vehicles are incorporated in this design sponsored by Transport Canada. Fuel efficiencies of 1.6 1/100 km are attainable with a conventional 250 cc powertrain, a low vehicle mass (40 kg), and the unique aerodynamic characteristics of the first Nexus prototype. Good acceleration, stable handling, and a top speed of 140 km/h proffer further optimization and widespread adaptation of Nexus-type vehicles by industry.
