摘要：
A variant of a forest litter classification based on a study of stratification of its structure and on major profile-forming processes is proposed. The fundamental basis for separating humus horizons is a system of indices (relation of lignin, cellulose and humus substances). Based on the developed classification, major zonal and some provincial characteristics of forest litter within the taiga and forest steppe zones are established.
