Based on the features of the tidal flow and sediment transport of the Qiantang Estuary, one-dimensional unsteady mobile-bed mathematical model has been developed. A series of calibrations have been carried out to this model, and the computed water level, cross-sectional velocity and sediment concentration agree with the measured very well. Finally, the paper presents an application of the model, a case study of which runoff affects the deposition/erosion in the Qiantang river. The relation of the upstream discharge and the deposition/erosion has been presented.
