This paper presents a stochastic model for a satellite-based computer communication network system. In this model, a master station is connected with n remote micro earth stations (MES) in the country. All of these are linked through a satellite. Every MES has an equal frequency of communication. An MES may fail due to a transient fault, i.e. power fluctuations, disturbed antenna direction of microelectromagnetic interferences. To achieve the high reliability of this network system, maintenance of the master station as well as remote MES is required. As a remote MES fails, recovery of the same starts immediately. Using the regenerative point technique, we have obtained several economic-related measures.
