摘要
A systematic complex variable method is presented for attacking the two-dimensional boundary value problem for Laplace's equation, arising in the problem of scattering of surface water waves by a submerged vertical barrier possessing a gap in-between. The reflection and transmission coefficients are determined analytically, and particular limiting case of the problem is shown to produce the known results. Typical numerical examples are also taken up.
