摘要
The article is an attempt to understand the percpetions of the lecturers at the Universities of Piaui, Maranhao and Rio Grande do Norte with respect to green supply chain management in the hospitality industry. The methodology used was exploratory qualitative research with the application of three questionnaires relating to environmental practices in the hospitality industry to the tourism lecturers in said Universities. The results of the study indicated that the lecturers fully understand best environmental practice in the hospitality industry, such as the efficient use of water and energy and the reduction of solid waste but that this knowledge does not filter through to the business sector, thus precluding green supply chain management in practice.
