摘要
The pulmonary surfactant is the physiological tensioactive material present at the surface of pulmonary alveoli. It is essentially composed by specific phospholipids and proteins, and deficiency leads to respiratory distress that can be extremely serious both in adults and in children. This article deals briefly with the biophysical properties of the surfactant which, together with some biological particularities, explain a large number of its physiological functions.
