ISOTACHOPHORETIC ANALYSES CARRIED OUT WITH LKB AND SHIMADZU INSTRUMENTS

摘要
Two instruments: LKB 2127 Tachophor and IP-3A Shimadzu have been compared in respect of their construction, usefulness and service. It has been established that identical systems of electrolytes can be used in both instruments although, due to differences in their construction, the viscosity of electrolytes must vary a little. A parallel determination on both instruments of penicillin G 1), 6-oxopiperidine-2-carboxylic acid 2) and sulphate ions 3) allowed to check the practical sensitivity of two different detectors. It was found that the gradient potential detector was more sensitive than the conductivity one. High sensitiveness is not desirable for an industrial analysis, but in the case of isotachophoresis it is possible to reduce the time of an analysis by diluting the sample. On the other hand, while determining the traces of contaminations there is no need to concentrate thc samples before analyses. In everyday work the Shimadzu instrument is more convenient. The operation of the instrument is easy through dialog via a CRT screen and the results of analyses are calculated by the adapted integrator.
