COLLABORATION WITHIN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND IN UNIVERSITIES

Students' preparation in mathematics at secondary school is discussed. It determines pupils' results in entry exams on mathematics and the difficulties they meet later in the learning of undergraduate mathematics. A reasoned opinion about the necessity of collaborative work of mathematics teachers at secondary schools and universities is expressed. Three suitable topics for joint activities are pointed out. Graphic illustrations and sample tasks are given. A combined use of classic and computer-supported approaches in mathematics education viewed as trinity "teaching-learning-assessment" is mentioned as well.
