Scandals: Francophone African Literature and Identity

The history of African Francophone literature has been punctuated by various scandals involving important authors. By exploring the discourse around two of the most resounding scandals - Ouologuem and Beyala - this article shows that the literary field in question constitutes a plural space influenced by various trends and nourished by both endogenous and exogenous elements that were essentially relayed by Paris.
