摘要
Thailand's rate of energy consumption has been growing at a fast pace due to its economic development with a corresponding rapid increase in CO2 emissions. Given the widely accepted fact between CO2 emissions and climate change, mitigation policies in Thailand become an essential part. The analysis is aimed at studying the effects of Thailand's CO2 emissions mitigation options on the energy system and at determining the possible CO2 emissions reduction. In the paper we analyse that the imposition of a carbon tax in the region $20/tonC could reduce CO2 emissions by 5% up to the year 2020.
