摘要
To further validate a Monte Carlo simulation code for Auger electron cascades, K-shell transitions in decaying Fe-55, In-111 and I-125 should be studied and compared with experimentally obtained spectra from the literature. The code used transition probabilities for singly ionized atoms and an external Dirac-Fock-based computer program enabling the determination of atomic energy levels characterized by specific electron configurations created within the transition cascades. In view of the radiobiophysical purposes, in particular the track structure calculations, for which the electron emission spectra of individual nuclide decays are needed as input data, the results agree very well with the experimental findings for all three nuclides. Moreover, new complete Auger electron spectra for individual decays of Fe-55 and In-111 were simulated.
